Introduction to Paphos - Kato Paphos
Paphos is a large city on the west coast of Cyprus that is known for its Old Town, which dates back thousands of years. It is said to be the birthplace of Aphrodite, the ancient Greek goddess. Paphos hotels are concentrated in the Kato Paphos area, which is one of the most central areas of the city. This part of the city offers easy access to such sights as the city’s beaches, the harbour and the old 16th century Turkish fort by the marina. The historical attractions of the city are highlights but there are a number of kid-friendly diversions for those who need a break from ancient ruins, including Bird Park and Aphrodite Water Park. Magnificent mosaics can be seen in the Roman villas of Theseus and Dionysos at Paphos Archaeological Park.
