Introduction to Limassol - Yermasoyia
Positioned in the middle of the large Akrotiri Bay, on the Mediterranean Sea, Yermasoyia is a northeastern suburb of the city of Limassol. The beach here is as you would expect from Cyprus - the sand is soft, the weather boiling in summer and the sea crystal clear. Given its location on the outskirts of the city, Yermasoyia is fairly developed for tourism but not in a high-rise way. Major sites including the medieval castle and the archaeological museum can be reached easily by taxi in about 10 minutes from here, while Limassol Municipal Gardens with its small zoo is within walking distance. This venue is popular with children given the tigers, monkeys and ostriches on display, among other species. The best walks are at the reservoir, two miles back from the coast, where there is also a large area of natural beauty.
