Introduction to Larnaca - City Centre
Larnaca is located in the southeast of Cyprus and is one of the island’s oldest cities. As such, the city is home to an old town, as well as a more modern beach area. Many visitors land at Larnaca International Airport before heading to other Cypriot resorts. However, increasing numbers of travellers are staying in the city centre itself, where they can find a number of Larnaca hotels by the beaches. The beaches are a good place to relax during the day, or even to use as a base for a diving expedition. The main promenade is easily accessible from the airport, which is just a 10-minute drive away. In the evening, eating out is popular with both tourists and locals. However, many restaurants which cater to foreign tourists offer the same unimaginative menus. Therefore, diners should try to sample the fare at one of the many restaurants packed with Cypriots.
