Introduction to Larnaca - Cape Kiti
Perfectly positioned just a few miles south of Larnaca International Airport and the city, but far enough away to feel like a real getaway destination, Cape Kiti makes an ideal base for a Cyprus holiday. The coastline here is largely untouched and the beach features soft, white sand. There are water sports here including boating, snorkelling and fishing, all of which can be arranged at local tour companies and indeed on the beach. There is a large salt lake right next to the airport which provides good photo opportunities, particularly at sunset and sunrise, plus it's a good location for walking on its shore. In summer, the water evaporates to leave a thick salt crust. On the shore is Hala Sultan Tekke, among the holiest of Islamic shrines within the Ottoman region.
