Introduction to Granma, Cuba
Granma is a province within the island nation of Cuba. The province stands at the eastern end of the island, and boasts a population of nearly 900,000 people. The capital of the province is Bayamo, but there are other large towns found in the region, including Pilon and the port city of Manzanillo. The province plays an important role in the history of Cuba as it is an icon of Cuba's communist victory in the 1950s. Tourism is not the largest industry in the province as coffee dominates the economic income in this region. Nevertheless, there are numerous landmarks worth visiting in the province. Sierra Maestra National Park is a large reserve that is found along the southern coastline of Granma. In addition to this park, the popular Desembarco Del Granma National Park is also worth exploring and is where Che Guevara first landed at Cuba on the boat Granma. Granma hotels can be found close to these important sites. The largest highway that passes through the province is Highway 4, which also travels through much of the island of Cuba. other spellings: granmahotels, otelin grenma, grainma hotell, grama hote, granma hotes, gramma
