Introduction to Split - City Centre
Originally constructed around the Dioceltia Palace is Split, a large city within Dalamatia. The Croatian city has many historical and cultural sites as well as a wealth of fun attractions and Split hotels for tourists. Those who would like to stay in near to the coast will find there are plenty of tourist amenities near Bacvice Beach, which is one of the most popular beaches in the area. The 4th century Saint Duje’s Cathedral, the huge Poljud Stadium, the Old Graveyards and a small park named Getski Vrtal are popular sights with locals and tourists alike. The highlight of a visit here, however, is Diocletian Palace, built to house the Roman emperor of the same name and today a UNESCO World Heritage site. Backing the beach are many places to dine or grab an ice cream.
