Introduction to Split - Brela
About 30 miles along the Adriatic coast from the city of Split, Brela is a seaside resort of stunning natural beauty. Perfectly positioned between the Adriatic and the Biokovo Mountains, the second-highest range in the country, the 'Pearl of the Makarska Riviera' is one of the most picture-postcard perfect towns in Croatia. The mountains here plunge into the turquoise Adriatic, with the shore lined with pine trees and featuring hidden, pebbly coves. Forbes magazine listed Punta Rata Beach as the best in Europe and the sixth best in the world in 2003 a sign of just how attractive the coastline is here. This beach is located just offshore, on a rocky outcrop that offers views of the mountains. Unsurprisingly, the sea here is crystal clear, which makes it a good spot for snorkelling in summer.
