Introduction to Istria, Croatia
Istria is a peninsula at the top end of the Adriatic Sea, although most of the peninsula is in Croatia. Croatia's land borders by Slovenia and Italy, runs across the north side of the Istria Peninsula. It is sheltered from the north by the Julian Alps and also has warm seas, making it Croatia's most popular destination. It boasts a 400km long coastline that is indented with small coves and golden beaches. Tourist towns such as Novigrad, Pula and Porec can be found along the western coast of the peninsula, across from Venice Bay, and they boast a plethora of Istria hotels. Most properties along this coastline are within walking distance of beaches such as Stoja. Stoja Beach is adjacent to Pula on the southern tip of the district and water sports such as swimming, snorkelling and surfing can be enjoyed here. The accommodations are a good starting point for daytrips to attractions including the Roman amphitheatre in Pula, Beredine Grotto or the castle at Pazin.other spellings: istriahotels, istia otel, istria hotell, istria hote, istria hotle
