Introduction to Istria - Porec
Porec is a small Croatian town on the Istrian peninsula. Many travellers get here from Venice, Italy by sailing across the Adriatic Sea on a Venezia Lines ferry. These ferries depart daily between April and October. In addition, there are four daily buses from Zagreb. The town itself is small and easily covered on foot, while there are taxis and buses to transfer guests to Porec hotels just outside the town centre. The Old Town is to the east of Porec's bus station and has a helpful tourist information office. The town's biggest attraction is its 6th century Euphrasian Basilica, which has been recognised by UNESCO. In addition, there are a number of palaces and museums in the Old Town which tell the story of the town's heritage. Some of the Old Town's ancient streets still retain their original Roman structure, too. Restaurants in the town tend to be expensive, catering to visiting tourists more than locals. However, there are some affordable seafood restaurants here for those who look hard enough.other spellings: porechotels, porec otel, prorec hotell, porect hote, porrec hotes, porek hotle
