Introduction to Istria - Medulin
Situated in the south of Croatia's Istria region, Medulin has risen from the ashes of bombing during WWII to become a major tourist hotspot that sees its local population quadruple in size during the busy summer months of July and August. The highlight here is the town's port, which bustles with leisure boats during the holiday season with its attractive tree-lined promenade and sun-bleached buildings. Medulin hotels are mostly located close to Osipovica, a street that runs close to the seafront, and there is a good variety of places to stay despite the small size of Medulin, all of which are within walking distance of restaurants and bars. This area also serves as an ideal base for walks along the picturesque headland that just out into the Adriatic Sea to the southwest, the perfect spot for evening walks and yet another idyllic example of Croatia's jagged coastline.
