Introduction to Puntarenas - Quepos
Quepos is a charming Costa Rican town, once the home to vast banana plantations but now more a sleepy town catering for tourists and for those interested in trying sport fishing. For visitors to Quepos wishing to spend a few days, there are many hotels in Quepos to choose from. Most Quepos hotels are located in the village centre within a six block square. Here you will find bars, restaurants, gift shops and art galleries. A great time to visit Quepos is in February when the Festival del Mar takes place. The festival lasts a whole month and features carnival parade, concerts and sporting events. Hotels in Quepos fill up quickly at this time, so be sure to book ahead.
