Introduction to Puntarenas - Jaco
Just a scenic two hour drive from San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica, Jaco is one of the two biggest beach resorts on the country’s central Pacific coast. Boasting some of Costa Rica’s liveliest nightlife and biggest waves, Jaco has long been an especially popular destination for surfers, so there are no shortage of hotels in Jaco for visitors to choose from. The most luxurious Jaco hotels are the gorgeous beachfront villas along Jaco’s coastline which are especially popular among newlyweds on their honeymoon. However, visitors can easily find just as many budget or mid range Jaco hotels located just metres from its dark sandy beach. Spanish immersion schools are also becoming popular among visitors wishing to stay long enough to learn the language. Booking at least a few days in advance for all Jaco hotels is highly recommended as rooms fill up especially quickly during the winter and on weekends.
