Introduction to Limon, Costa Rica
Limon is a stunning region in Costa Rica. It boasts superb beaches along its Caribbean coast with some of the best white sand beaches you will ever see. Many Limon hotels are located along the beach and for active travellers; there are plenty of opportunities to try scuba diving, sport fishing and surfing. Close to some properties is the excellent Tortuquero National Park which is well known for nesting turtles. The Cahuita National Park is also nearby and this is where you can come across indigenous Indian tribes such as the Cocles and Bribri. The countryside surrounding the district is incredible with rainforests inland from the coast, the Talamanca Mountains in the south and the swamps in the north. Puerto Limon is the main city and has a very Caribbean feel compared to other cities in Costa Rica.
