Playa Carrillo is a tranquil tropical paradise near Puerto Carrillo, a tiny fishing village in Costa Rica’s Guanacaste province. The beach of Playa Carrillo is filled with white sand, lined with palm trees, and lots of hotels in Carrillo. Although Carrillo hotels don’t include any luxury resorts along the beach, many visitors seeking a true refuge from it all may consider that an advantage. Most hotels in Carrillo can be found in the village of Puerto Carrillo, located on the hill east from the beach, and can be expensive. However, many guests believe Carrillo’s quiet and relaxed atmosphere is worth the price. Most Carrillo hotels include pools, air conditioning, and other basic amenties, but a popular alternative is renting one of the area’s many unique cabinas where guests stay in uniquely decorated rooms with private kitchens and relaxing hammocks.
