Introduction to Alajuela - Aguas Zarcas
Aguas Zarcas, which is Spanish for ’light blue waters’ is a serene village in Costa Rica’s Cordellera Central mountains. The village is most well known for its natural hot springs situated in the heart of the Central American country’s beautiful and exotic jungle. Not surprisingly, most hotels in Aguas Zarcas are aimed towards visitors to the hot springs and offer physical therapy, mud baths, massages, aromatherapy, and other spa treatments alongside stunning surrounding scenery and a wide varieyt of other amenities. However, hotels in Aguas Zarcas can be quite costly, so popular alternatives to Aguas Zarcas hotels include accommodations in the nearby cities of Ciudad Quesada or Venecia. Visitors who don’t mind roughing it may enjoy camping in the jungles and rainforests at the Juan Castro Blanco National Park or Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Costa Rica’s capital of San Jose is just a 90 minute drive away from this beautiful area.Visit our Alajuela Travel Guide
