Huaqing Hot Springs: these refreshing springs have a romantic story behind them. Located 35kms outside of Xian, Huangin Hot Springs are believed to be the place where Yang Guifei, the consort of the Xuanzong emperor wife committed suicide. Legend has it that because the emperor was so madly smitten with Yang Guifei, he neglected his work for the country. The empire was threatened and the courtiers blamed Yang Guifei for his mismanagement. Yang Guifei hung herself here to save the country and the emperor’s name. Hua Shan Mountain: enthusiastic hikers will have a challenging task hiking up this sacred Taoist mountain located. It takes approximately five hours of hard climbing to reach the peak, where if you climb overnight, you can reach in time to witness a stunning sunrise. The mountain offers breathtaking views across the city and surrounding mountain ranges. Tang Dynasty Cultural Show: is staged in Tang Theatre and boasts traditional dances, sweet-sounding music, beautiful costumes and an exquisite setting. The performance represents the lifestyle of people in ancient times. Xian Antique Market: is where you can find an array of Chinese antiques and traditional herbs, spices and medicines. The market can be found at the intersection of Zhuque Lu and Nan Erhuan Lu, close to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda.
