Several types of visas are issued by Chinese immigration however the two most common are a single entry or a multiple entry visa. Single entry visas are valid for three months from the date of issue and allow travellers only one entry into China. Multiple entry visas allow travellers to move freely within mainland China and Hong Kong more than once.
Regardless of the type of visa used, all passports must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of entry into China and have at least two clear pages left. It is also advisable to have a few passport sized photos with you.
