Spas and massage: there are spas and massage centres in most of the hotels. Visiting a spa will allow you to choose from several services that are being offered including facials, massages, detox programmes, body scrub and others. Some spas even offer acupuncture services.
Swimming: almost every hotel has a pool with the bigger hotels having beautifully designed pools. Swimming is a great way to cool down from the summer heat and for those who prefer a dip in the sea, there are many beaches just a short distance from the city centre.
Shopping: Hong Kong is a shopper’s paradise and the only challenge for visitors here will be to stick to their budget. Popular shopping items with tourists include consumer electronics, tailored clothing, shoes, jewellery, antiques, toys and Chinese herbs/medicine. There are numerous air conditioned sprawling malls in and around the city. Nathan Road is known for its electronic goods. Street Markets are also interesting places to purchase items if you don’t mind bargaining and putting up with the crowds. There are several markets to choose from but Ladies Market that sells mostly clothes, toys, souvenirs and gadgets and Temple Street Market are among the favourites with tourists.
Eating out: is both a ‘hobby’ and necessity in Hong Kong where the locals take much pleasure in their meals. Hong Kong caters not only for all kinds of budgets but also for all kinds of tastes. Restaurants and eating outlets can be found on every street.
