Introduction to Wuhan - Jianghan
Located on the banks of the great Yangtze River at the heart of the historic city of Wuhan, the district of Jianghan offers excellent access to many cultural, commercial and historic delights. Perhaps the biggest of local attractions is the pedestrianised shopping precinct on Jianghan Street, which runs north from the banks of the river. Jianghan hotels put visitors in a great location from which to explore outdoor areas like the local cluster of lakes and parks, though the weather gets extremely hot and humid in the summer, making it hard for most people to enjoy being outdoors. The Jianghan area surrounds what was once known as Little Hong Kong. Many Western buildings from the 1930s testify to the area's great commercial prosperity before WWII.
