As well as being able to boast that it is the world’s most inland city, Urumqi also has plenty to offer its visiting tourists in terms of attractions and hotels in Urumqi offer a wide range of both choices and value. A small city of just over 1.5 million people, Urumqi has visitors flocking to it so that they can enjoy the Xinjian Uygur Regional Museum (which is home to mummies) and go walking around the Red Mountains, which are home to a Ferris wheel, a temple and breathtaking views of the local area. Urumqi hotels are found in different places in the city whether you prefer to be near the city centre and the Parkson Shopping Centre or would like to splurge in one of the bigger franchised hotels in Urumqi. The city centre is only a mile or two long so walking from your hotel in Urumqi to the attractions is a common practice for many visitors.
