Introduction to Suzhou - Wuzhong
Wuzhong is the southern district of Suzhou, an incredible city blessed with historic attractions and a booming industrial sector. While the vast majority of tourist attractions are located farther north in the central parts of Suzhou, Wuzhong offers visitors a more natural side to this city. Taihu Lake is here, offering visitors a wonderful environment of agriculture, aquaculture and coastal scenery. There are also a number of pleasant resorts in the area, especially along the lake and the coast. Wuzhong hotels typically cater to Chinese middle-class tourists. Most foreign visitors tend to sleep in the city centre, closer to the hub of restaurants, bars and shops. Suzhou is often called the Venice of the East due to the number of lovely canals that run along many of its city streets.
