Suzhou, in Jiangsu Province, is situated on the western shores of Lake Tai, about 50kms from Shanghai. Suzhou features classic pagodas, ancient stone bridges and exquisitely designed gardens, which have helped to make the city one of China’s premier tourist destinations. There are numerous hotels in Suzhou as well as budget backpacker’s accommodation. Suzhou hotels near the tourist attractions in the old city tend to be of a more traditional design in keeping with the area. Hotels in Suzhou, away from the centre, near the industrial zone and other locations, are soaring Western style structures that have a full range of entertainment and business amenities.
