Shijiazhuang is the capital city of Hebei Province, in central eastern China. Beijing is about 300kms north of Shijiazhuang. Shijiazhuang is an industrial city that has expanded quickly since 1949. Hotels in Shijiazhuang are mainly located around the city centre on or near Zhongshan East Road and Zhongshan West Road. Central Shijiazhuang hotels are easily reached from the main railway station, the business district and the department stores nearby. A smaller selection of Shijiazhuang hotels are situated at strategic points around the city, such as near Tianshan Sea World, and also close to Shijiazhuang Airport. Lodgings range in quality from budget guest houses to elegant five star establishments. Although Shijiazhuang has some attractive parks dotted around the city, there are not many other sightseeing attractions. The hotels provide a good base for day trips to attractions outside the city such as the ancient stone built Zhaozhou Bridge. Other attractions are the scenic Cangyan Shan (Mountain) with its pagodas and temples, and the lofty 700-year-old Bailin Temple Pagoda.
