Shenzhen is in south China’s Guangdong Province, just north of Hong Kong. Shenzhen was a small fishing village in the Pearl River Delta until the latter 1970s. In 1980 Shenzhen became China’s first Special Economic Zone. Since then Shenzhen has grown at a rapid pace and is now a large cosmopolitan city and is also the second busiest port in China. Accommodation in the city is provided by the large selection of hotels in Shenzhen. A lot of Shenzhen hotels are close to the railway station and the business district at Luoho. These Shenzhen hotels offer easy access to Hong Kong, Guangzhou and the city itself. There are a few more luxury hotels in the west part of Shenzhen Economic Zone with views over the sea and Shenzhen Bay. Popular tourist spots in Shenzhen are the theme parks of China Folk Culture Village and Happy Valley. Shenzhen also boasts several traditional Chinese style parks and several beaches. Some hotels offer conference facilities or nightly entertainment as well as dining and drinking venues.
