Introduction to Shanghai - Huangpu (Bund)
Located just west of the Huangpu River is Shanghai's Huangpu district. It is one of 18 districts in the city and most famous for being home to the People's Square and the famous shopping district of Nanjing Road. Here, on what is considered to be the best shopping street of the city, shops and malls line both sides of the street. However, visitors should beware of hawkers and pick-pockets! A must-do is to stroll along the roads leading to the City God Temple, which are lined with many historic buildings and shops. The temple dates back to the Ming Dynasty and connects to another important attraction of the city, the Yuyuan Garden. This traditional Chinese garden is considered to be one of the best in the country.
