Introduction to Qinhuangdao, China
Qinhuangdao is a city in China’s north-eastern Hebei Province. It is a port city on the coast of the Bohai Sea. The Bohai Sea is part of the Yellow Sea. Qinhuangdao is close to the Beidaihe Beach Resort, which boasts 10kms of beach with shallow waters ideal for swimming. Qinhuangdao hotels are scattered around the city centre with easy access to the railway station. There are also Qinhuangdao hotels on the coast overlooking the Bohai Sea. Several traditional Chinese buildings, including one centred round a courtyard, have been converted into elegant hotels. Qinhuangdao hotels range in standard from basic guest houses up to four-star establishments. Qinhuangdao’s most famous landmark is Shanhaiguan, or Shanhai Pass. Shanhaiguan is the Eastern End of the Great Wall of China. Tanghe River Park is a fusion of modern and natural with a man-made red ribbon running through wetlands. The large Qinhuangdao Safari Park contains more than 100 species of animals including several rare breeds, such as Manchurian tigers.
