Paradise Hotel Shangri-La - China

The name of the Paradise Hotel Shangri-La is synonymous with luxury. No other establishment in this northwest Chinese community, formerly called Zhongdian, rivals the size of this relaxing retreat. The guest rooms were designed in a combination of at least 6 different styles, and are painted in relaxing colours. Presidential, deluxe and executive suites are offered alongside traditional Tibetan rooms and European style rooms. All overlook a tranquil courtyard with a sauna, cool swimming pool and refreshing greenery. A nurse’s station offers oxygen to guests having difficulty adjusting to the high Himalayas altitude. Although modern shopping options are situated very near to this classy city centre retreat, many visitors may prefer browsing the handmade goods sold by the Old Town’s vendors. Traditional dancing takes place there for an hour each evening.
