Located at the point where Sichuan, Tibet and Yunnan provinces meet, Lijiang is regarded as a fairytale city by many locals and past visitors. With a history dating back nearly 800 years, the city’s canals, Song Dynasty remnants, cool climate and fresh air attract a steady flow of tourist throughout the year. While it is usually recommended to book hotel accommodations in advance, it is best to arrive before searching around for hotels in Lijiang. There are a number of Lijiang hotels around the Old Town area as it is a tourist haven. The ancient Shuhe Village is a popular attraction and is located just outside of town. There are a number of Lijiang hotels within the village.
