Introduction to Jingdezhen, China
Jingdezhen is a prefecture-city in the Chinese province of Jiangxi, eastern China, known as the Porcelain Capital. This popular tourist destination is famous for its locally made ceramics and the culture that surrounds this ancient craft that has been in practice here for nearly 2,000 years. A Ceramics Museum, Historical Exhibition Area and Hutian Ancient Kiln Site are all leading tourist attractions based on this industry. Hotels in Jingdezhen are concentrated in Zhushan and just to the north of Changjiang, offering a mixture of large international chain hotels, high rise establishments and small locally-run guesthouses. The city features a decent array of tourist attractions such as the People’s Park and plenty of useful dining, shopping and entertainment areas. Jingdezhan is accessible by air, train and bus and makes a good base for exploring the nearby tourist towns of Lushan, Huangshan and Wuyuan.
