Introduction to Hong Kong - Tsing Yi
Few tourists check-in to Tsing Yi hotels, not because this part of Hong Kong isn't worthy of visiting, but because it hold few of the main attractions. This island to the northwest of the main island is home to many private and public high-rises along with industry. Inland is a greenbelt area that remains untouched by development. From the east coast of the island, the views across the Rambler Channel are superb. Getting here is simple due to its eight bridges linking the island with the likes of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island as well as a rail station that connects with the MRT and Airport Express. Devoid of any major tourist draws, Tsing Yi nevertheless offers a handful of interesting Buddhist temples and other places of worship. Tin Hau Temple and Chun Kwan Temple are two of the most visit-worthy. Maritime Square is the island's shopping hub, closely followed by the older Cheung Fat Shopping Centre.
