Introduction to Hong Kong - Disneyland Lantau
Hong Kong Disneyland Lantau opened in 2005. This world-class amusement park has so far attracted over 25 million visitors. Located on a reclaimed portion of Lantau Island, the largest island of Hong Kong, the park does not include all the themed areas that Disneyland is famous. It has just four zones: Adventureland, Fantasyland, Main Street USA and Tomorrowland. It is much more compact than other Disney parks and is therefore easy to explore in one day. Disneyland Lantau hotels offer top-notch accommodation right inside the amusement park, but should be booked well in advance. Lantau Island offers other attractions, such as the huge bronze Tian Tan Buddha at the Po Lin Monastery, walking trails up to the peak and the Tai O fishing village. The cable car from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping, known as the Ngong Ping 360, is well worth a ride, with great views of the area from the cable cars.Visit our Hong Kong Travel Guide
