Emeishan is a delightful place to stay for a few days. The town centre is small enough to walk round, and features a few souvenir shops and a choice of restaurants and bars. There are plenty of guesthouses and hotels in Emeishan to choose from. One of the most popular tourist attractions in the area is the Leshan Giant Buddha; another is Mount Emei, one of China’s four Buddhist mountains which offers some scenic hiking trails for the more active traveller. Many of the Emeishan hotels are located at the base of the mountain. After a days walking, there are some hot springs nearby to relax in, and massages and spa treatments are available at the springs. Other places to visit include the National Forest Park Wawushan and Yaan Zhougong Mountain. Hotels in Emeishan will be able to arrange transportation and tour guides if required to the main tourist sites in the region.
