Introduction to Chaozhou, China
Chaozhou is a city of rich history and a unique cultural flavour that is sure to delight every tourist who visits. The city is filled with important ancient relics and architecture, such as Kaiyuan Temple, a Buddhist centre reflecting decades of dynasties in its architecture and housing the city's old, hand-inscribed records. Don't miss the intricate wood carvings at Huang Jiliue Temple or the architecture of the Xu, Imperial Son-in-law Mansion from the Song Dynasty. The Hanjiang River runs along the city; its waters flow into the nearby South China Sea and are lit by the Beige Fodeng, or the Lighthouse of the Buddha, allegedly named when a passing emperor awoke and declared the rays to be protection sent by a bodhisattva. Chaozhou hotels are found within the old Ming city walls, and most are located near the main city park, where there is a nice geological museum. Chaozhou's distinct culture is famous for its teochew cuisine, folk opera, string and percussion music, Ganghu tea, embroidery and exuberant lion dance. Tourists are invited to experience all that Chaozhou has to offer.other spellings: chazhou otel, choazhou hotell, chaozhou hotes, choashou hotles, chaozhuo
