Introduction to Changshu, China
In the east of China, around 50 miles to the west of Shanghai’s centre, is Changshu. It is popular with tourists, mostly those from other areas of China, for its beautiful parks and gardens and its tombs of famous Chinese aristocrats. The city is mostly used as a base for discovering the surrounding area and visiting Shanghai and the coastal regions close by. Hotels in Changshu offer a selection of room types and often feature in-house restaurants and bars. Shanghu Lake and Forest Park, which contains temples and caves to explore, is a wonderful place to unwind. The city’s east offers the Changhu River and Lake Weixi, which are favourite recreational areas in the warmer months. Among the most visited of the city’s gardens are Zengs' Garden, Zhaos' Garden and Yan Garden.
