Introduction to Beijing - Fengtai
Beijing's Fengtai is one of the 16 districts of the capital of China and is located in the south-central part of the city. Although the district is primarily industrial, there is plenty for visitors to see. The main landmark in the district is the White Cloud Temple, which dates back to the 8th century. The gate to the temple is colourfully decorated and the inner parts house great artworks and are still a functioning Taoist temple. A strange but popular attraction is the Beijing World Park. As the name suggests, it has miniatures of some of the world's most famous landmarks, such as the pyramids of Egypt and India's Taj Mahal. Another attraction is the Wanping Castle, a fortress located close to the famous Marco Polo or Lugou Bridge. It is nick-named the Marco Polo Bridge because it is stated that Marco Polo praised the bridge.
