Introduction to Baoji, China
Baoji is a large city in the east-central area of China, around 100 miles west of the famous city of Xi'an, which is home to the Terracotta Army and the tomb of China’s first emperor. Baoji is a bustling city filled with historical sights and modern architecture. Most of the hotels in Baoji are situated in the city centre, on the northern banks of the Weihe River, and city parks, shopping centres, ancient temples and modern skyscrapers are all within walking distance. Largely industrial, the city is not a major visitor hotspot yet is has abundant places of interest for those passing through on trains between eastern and western China. Twenty kilometres out of the city is Zhuge Liang's Memorial Temple, built in honour of this recognised Three Kingdoms Period chancellor. The northern part of the Silk Road is accessible, as are its archeological sites, farming villages and mountainous areas.
