Tiedong finds itself in the eastern section of the city of Anshan, China. Here you will find 219 Park, which memorialises 19 February 1948, the day when the People's Liberation Army took over the town. The park's greatest attraction is the Jade Buddha Temple. It contains the world's largest jade Buddha, which is seven metres wide and eight metres high. Moreover, a likeness of the goddess Guanyin has been carved into the back of the green stone. Also in Tiedong district is Dongshan Park (East Mountain Park), which has a good network of paths. The longest of them is five kilometres in length. The sizeable park contains 946 hectares of forest and 22 hectares of water. This is an excellent spot for getting back to nature while staying close to an urban environment. There's a great watchtower here. From the top, it offers stunning views of the lake and woodland in the park as well as the city as a backdrop.
