The South American country of Chile is a narrow strip of coastal plain which runs down almost the whole length of the southern continent, from Peru in the north to its farthest tip. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the massive Andes mountain range, its coastline is an amazing 6,435kms long and only 175kms wide on average. Chile’s territory includes the islands of Desventuradas, Juan Fernandez and Salas Y Gomez as well as mysterious Easter Island.
