The trendy upmarket beach resort of Vina del Mar is just an hour’ s drive north of Santiago in Chile or just a short drive from the city of Valparaiso. It is a lovely place to relax for a few days but does get very busy with Santiaguinos at the weekend. Most of Vina del Mar hotels are located on the beachfront. However some of Vina del Mar hotels are located in the downtown area close to the shops and the Quaint Verger Walk. From here it is about a 15 minute walk to the beach. The best time to visit Vina del Mar is from November to March and hotels in Vina del Mar can get quite busy so it would be wise to book in advance. If you get tired of the beaches, you can travel to nearby vineyards and enjoy a glass of Chilean wine or head to the mountains for great coastal views.
