La Herradura boasts a spectacular bay and it is this that most people vist La Herradura to see. The Punta de la Mona sits at one end of the bay of La Herradura and at the other end the bay is enclosed by the Cerro Gordo. The harbour is around two kilometres across and so there are plenty of La Herradura hotels that face the water and some even have semi-private beaches and marina facilities. All hotels in La Herradura have swimming pools and air conditioning and most are laidback places that offer little other than a place for guests to easily reach the beach. La Herradura hotels fan out from the eastern end of the bay and the hotels in the town itself are smaller, naturally, than the seaside resorts that are more spaced out along the water front. The Punta de la Mona marks the end of the tourist scene at La Herradura.
