Calama is a city located in the Atacama Desert in the north of Chile. It has a population in excess of 140,000 inhabitants and is one of the world's driest cities. The metropolis is at 2,260m above sea level and is a popular destination among visitors who plan to tour the archaeological wonders of the country's high desert.
