With its charming docks and idyllic promenade, Inner Harbour is the undisputed highlight of Victoria, especially during those balmy summer months when the light seems to last forever. The old buildings here are simply magnificent, providing the ideal backdrop to the water and its varied collection of old sail boats and more modern luxury yachts that point to the wealth of this Vancouver Island city. Inner Harbour hotels are generally high-end given the setting, and there is a variety of international chains here as well as more cosy accommodation with a local flavor to choose from. Be sure to book early for the annual Classic Boat Festival held during the September Labour Day weekend as the Inner Harbour area gets very crowded at this time, especially when the weather holds.
