Introduction to Toronto - Vaughan
Vaughan is a well-connected city in the York region of Greater Toronto. Superhighways from across the region pass through the city, while those using public transport can choose from buses or trains to get here. There are currently two GO train stations in the city, with plenty of rail expansion planned in the future. The city is best-known for its shopping outlets, one of which is located on the corner of Centre Street and Bathurst Street. Promenade Mall has been serving shoppers since 1986 and underwent significant renovation in 2009. Besides retail outlets, there is a popular cinema on the premises. The much bigger Vaughan Mills is the most modern shopping centre in the city, adding a NASCAR Speedpark and a bowling alley to all the usual brand-name shops. Those interested in the arts will find Vaughan hotels convenient for visiting the McMichael Canadian Art Gallery. This well-regarded art collection is located on Islington Avenue.
