Introduction to Toronto - Scarborough
Scarborough is a popular district in the Canadian city of Toronto. Most visitors come here in order to visit Toronto Zoo. It is the most visited zoo in Canada, with more than 5,000 animals on show. Here, the Gorilla Rainforest has won many awards for the quality of its exhibitions. However, Scarborough hotels are also well-placed for exploring the Scarborough Bluffs, a nine-mile stretch of cliffs along the shore of Lake Ontario. From here, the views are magnificent. There are plenty of shopping opportunities, too. The district's main shopping centre is located just off Highway 401, between McCowan Road and Brimley Road. In fact, the 401 is one of the best ways to get here along with the faster but more expensive 407 express toll route, or ETR. Otherwise, GO Transit operates trains to the district's main station as well as Rouge Hill, Guildwood and Eglinton. Buses to the district are operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).Visit our Toronto Travel Guide
