Port Hope is a town on the upper coast of Lake Ontario in southeast Canada. Port Hope is around 100kms east of Toronto at the base of the Northumberland Hills. Most of the hotels in Port Hope are located near the city centre restaurants and retail outlets. The heritage centre is packed with boutiques, antique shops and speciality shops. The Canadian fire-fighters Museum, featuring an eclectic collection of fire fighting paraphernalia, and a number of art galleries are nearby. An additional choice of Port Hope hotels is on the MacDonald-Cartier Freeway which passes north of the town. Hotels in Port Hope are the perfect start point for daytrips to the Northumberland Hills. Cobourg is along Lake Ontario’s shore, from Port Hope, and features a wide sandy beach that is very popular in summer. Dagmar Ski Resort is one of several ski destinations in the environs of Port Hope.
