Introduction to Nanaimo, Canada

Nanaimo’s dubious status as the Bathtub Racing Capital of the World belies its sporty outlook and stunning location on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canade. This is a city with an incredibly central location that benefits from proximity to the mainland on the one hand and a great sense of outdoor remoteness on the other. Nanaimo hotels range from family friendly motels and campsites to more expensive deluxe outifts. In general, hotels in Nanaimo are medium range and very expensive and also very cheap accommodations are not easy to secure here. There are some backpacker and student dormitories but in general Nanaimo hotels are right down the middle of the price and comfort range. Perhaps this is due to Nanaimo’s proximity to Vancouver, and the many five star hotels that are located there. However, Nanaimo is not known as the Hub City for nothing and a great many travellers pass through here for at least two nights.
