Introduction to Montreal - Anjou
The formerly independent city of Anjou, Quebec, with its good amenities and recreational facilities, became a borough of Montreal, the province's most populated city, in 2002. This borough is the meeting point of two major city highways, the location of one of the city's biggest industrial parks and the home of the Galeries d'Anjou shopping centre. This mall, which contains about 175 different shops, was the biggest in the whole city between 1968 and 1985. However, guests at Anjou hotels will find the city also has a greener and quieter side, which is most evident in its nearly 20 parks. Some of these parks are merely places to relax, while others boast dozens of amenities such as play areas, paddling ponds, swimming pools, water sports and athletic fields. Four of these parks also contain community gardens, another of which can be found behind the Notre Dame d'Anjou church. The local amusement park features a well lit and paved outdoor go-kart track and a miniature golf course.Visit our Montreal Travel Guide
