London is a Canadian city in south-western Ontario, unsurprisingly named after the capital city of the UK. Like its namesake, the city also lies on the banks of the River Thames. It is a centre of manufacturing, business and higher education, but tourists visiting the city can also find a number of cultural diversions to occupy their time. Travellers can get here by flying to London International Airport, or taking the train from Montreal. Flights here depart from across Canada, as well as from Chicago, in the USA. Many hotels are located in the city centre, but increasing numbers of travellers are choosing cheaper accommodation on the city's outskirts. These London hotels are most useful for those arriving by road. Travellers coming from Toronto can take Highway 401, which runs along the southern outskirts. Alternatively, those coming from the Michigan border can take Highway 402, which terminates in the southwest of the city, at its junction with Highway 401.
