Introduction to Kamloops, Canada
Kamloops is a city at the confluence of the picturesque River Thompson and its tributaries in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is on the Trans-Canada Highway 1, in the southwest part of the country. The city boasts myriad museums, art galleries, eateries, shops and Kamloops hotels. There is a major grouping of the properties in the city centre on the south side of the river. Kamloops museum is a short walk away. Victoria Street runs through the centre and features boutiques and outdoor cafes. It is home to more than 200 restaurants and pubs. The restaurants serve a range of cuisines while some of the pubs offer live music. The establishments offer a base from which to enjoy the outdoor sports activities available in the region. Lac du Bois Park is northwest of town and contains trekking trails through unspoilt countryside, and diverse wildlife. In winter the region has skiing, snowboarding, ice-skating and ice fishing opportunities. other spellings: kamloopshotels, kamloop otel, kamlups hotell, kamlups hote, kamlups hotes
