Introduction to Hamilton, Canada
Hamilton is at the west end of Lake Ontario in southwest Canada. Hamilton, a port city, is the hub of a heavily populated manufacturing region. It is part of Ontario Province, close to Canada's border with the US. It has many tourist draws that include museums, panoramic lake views, shopping, and parks and waterfalls along the city's stretch of the River Niagara. There is an abundant choice of hotels in Hamilton. The 19th century neoclassical Dundurn Castle is on York Boulevard close to the city centre. There is a cluster of properties in the vicinity of the castle. Other nearby attractions include the preserved warship, HMCS Haida, in Harbour; Art Gallery and the lakeside Royal Botanic Gardens. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is adjacent to the city's John Munro Airport. The properties are a good base for enjoying the pleasures of Lake Ontario. There are several beaches around the lake. Fishing boat trips depart from Harbour. Further afield, trekking trails meander through pristine countryside.
